GG4 meets Cookies & Cream in this attributed hybrid story. Follow the parent names, the contrast in aroma descriptions and the botanical detail behind a resin-covered flower.
Behind the name
Prime Cuts Nursery identifies Grease Monkey as an Exotic Genetix hybrid with Gorilla Glue #4 and Cookies & Cream as parents. Its account also uses the abbreviation GG4 for the first parent.
The full names make the relationship easier to follow. Grease Monkey is the named cross in that account; it is not simply another spelling of either parent. Keep the cross and its parents as separate entries when reading a family tree.
The nursery describes a contrast between vanilla-like sweetness, creamy associations and a sharper diesel character. Earthy and peppery notes also appear in its account.
These terms describe sensory impressions. They do not mean a flower contains vanilla extract, cream or fuel. The contrast is more informative than treating the name Grease Monkey as a literal description of ingredients.
The nursery describes compact flower clusters with a conspicuous surface covering. To interpret a close-up, it helps to distinguish the projecting stigmas from trichomes, as illustrated in UC Davis’s botanical reference.
Stigmas and trichomes are separate structures, even when they appear close together. A detailed image can show the outline and surface of a particular flower; it cannot reveal aroma or independently confirm which strain the specimen belongs to.
Exotic Genetix’s catalogue uses Grease Monkey and Grease Monkey Vol.2 as collection headings containing separately named entries. A collection heading and the name of one strain therefore have different roles.
Read the individual entry beneath the heading. Finding an item in a Grease Monkey collection does not make its complete name Grease Monkey. That small distinction helps keep parent profiles, descendants and catalogue navigation from becoming duplicate strain pages.
For a Grease Monkey reference, record the full name, the contributor and the stated lineage together. A photograph caption should add who made the image and which specimen it shows.
This profile follows the nursery’s account and identifies the breeder it credits. A separately documented example can have its own characteristics without changing the scope of this historical account.
Grease Monkey FAQ
Prime Cuts Nursery lists Gorilla Glue #4, or GG4, and Cookies & Cream, and credits Exotic Genetix.
No. In the cited account, GG4 is one of the parents of the named cross Grease Monkey.
No literal ingredient claim is intended. Creamy and fuel-like language describes sensory associations in the source account.
No. A catalogue collection can contain separately named entries. Read the individual name rather than using the collection heading as its identity.
No. UC Davis distinguishes the projecting stigmas from surface trichomes. A sufficiently detailed photograph helps show the difference.
