Clementine meets Purple Punch. Follow Mimosa through its breeder attribution, a producer’s sensory account and a separately named relative.
Behind the name
PURPLEFARM records Mimosa as a cross of Clementine and Purple Punch, bred by Symbiotic Genetics. The parent names give this profile its starting point.
Parentage describes a relationship. It does not make the descendant interchangeable with either parent, or establish that every specimen will display the same balance of visible characteristics.
The producer record credits Symbiotic Genetics for the breeding and presents PURPLEFARM’s own Mimosa account. Both names matter, but they describe different roles.
Keeping those roles visible makes the description easier to trace. A producer’s record can identify the breeder while also providing observations specific to the material it presents.
PURPLEFARM describes tropical fruit and sweet floral notes and places Mimosa in its Tropical + Floral collection.
These sensory associations help explain the producer’s descriptive language. They are not literal ingredients. A cultivar name that resembles a drink name also does not establish alcohol content or a connection to a beverage producer.
Barney’s Farm describes Mimosa EVO as its development from a Symbiotic Genetics cut, incorporating Orange Punch. It is a separate breeder record from the Mimosa profile followed here.
Keep EVO attached when referring to that account. Dropping the suffix would make a description of the later version sound like a universal description of the original name.
Chocolope provides another example of why complete names matter: its profile distinguishes the original cultivar from Chocolope 256. A suffix can carry meaningful identity information.
Follow the linked account before combining descriptions from similarly named entries. The useful comparison is between full cultivar records, not just the shared word at the start.

No. Barney’s Farm describes its own development under the longer name, so we keep that account separate.
No. A strain name is not an ingredient declaration.
